About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician at Zekelman Industries, located in [Insert Location], you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient repair and rebuild of tube mill production equipment. What You’ll Do
- Performs electrical maintenance on equipment – Ensures all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), are followed.
- Monitors equipment safety – Verifies that all guards and safety equipment are in place and functional before returning equipment to operators.
- Tracks parts and supplies – Monitors inventory levels of parts, equipment, and supplies, and places orders as necessary.
- Utilizes maintenance management systems – Tracks, inspects, and reports equipment status through both manual and computerized systems.
- Diagnoses and repairs equipment – Reads and interprets blueprints, manuals, and schematics to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
- Performs breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance – Resolves issues and conducts changeover tasks on production equipment.
- Fabricates repair parts – Uses machine shop tools and equipment to create repair parts.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment – Complies with safety regulations and company procedures to ensure workplace safety.
- Operates industrial equipment – Safely operates powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable cranes.
- Supports continuous improvement efforts – Contributes to problem-solving initiatives to improve operational performance.
- Promotes a safety culture – Fosters health and safety awareness in line with company policies and regulatory standards.
Who You Are
- 5 years of experience in a maintenance role in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent (apprenticeship, journeyman training, or military service is a plus).
- Proficiency in using tools and interpreting technical drawings – Skilled in using hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and reading blueprints.
- Mechanical aptitude with electrical system knowledge – Familiar with electrical systems and PLCs.
- Strong communication skills – Able to communicate effectively in English and perform basic math calculations.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills – Demonstrated ability to resolve mechanical, electrical, and quality issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical capability – Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform other physical tasks as required.
Physical Abilities
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, sit, kneel, crawl, and reach in all directions as needed.

Compensation & Benefits
Below is the expected base salary range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.
Base Salary Range: $32.45 Hourly Production Incentive
