What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grocery Lead Floor Sales / Cashier position at Atlas Valley Purveyors?
Key Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Must understand all liquor laws and certify as TIPS trained.
- Greet all customers.
- Count drawer prior to the start of shirt to assure proper balance.
- Must check ID of any person who appears under 40 years of age.
- Ring up purchases.
- Process credit cards, cash transactions and verify checks are legitimate.
- Make changes for fellow cashiers when needed.
- Issue receipts and change due to customers.
- Issue refunds and credits for customers.
- Weigh items sold by weight in order to determine price.
- Bag purchases appropriately
- Answer customer’s questions regarding products, policies and services that AVP provides.
- Help to resolve customer’s complaints.
- Maintain proper communication with managers and fellow co-workers.
- Maintain clean and orderly cashier stations.
- Request information or assistance using PA system.
- Assist grocery clerks with replenishing, fronting, straightening products on th shelves with needed.
- Close drawers at the end of shifts with the cashiers and prepare deposit at the end of business day.
- Help prepare schedule with grocery manager weekly.
- Maintain proper reporting of all liquor related incidents to manager.
- Communicate with fellow cashiers and mangers
- Resolve interpersonal issues between staff, communicate with managers regarding issues
