Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate a variety of heavy machinery and equipment used in farming operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment such as tractors, excavators, loaders, and harvesters for various farming tasks.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
• Work collaboratively with farm management and other team members to achieve production goals.
• Keep accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance.
• Respond to equipment malfunctions and perform repairs as needed or report issues to the supervisor.
• Participate in training programs and stay updated on best practices in equipment operation and farming techniques.
• Mixing, load and apply of chemicals. Install and remove pesticide signs as needed.
• Monitor all weather conditions and ensure that supervisory/managerial staff are informed of same.
• Complete understanding of all MSDS, chemical label criteria, and state federal laws surrounding use and application of product
• Monitor all ground speeds, pressure settings, flow rates and spray patterns. Unplug nozzles and filters as needed.
• Maintain an understanding and proper use of all personal protective equipment.

Job Requirements:

• 3-year minimum proven experience operating heavy machinery in a farming or agricultural setting.
• Must be able to drive truck and trailer. No class A license required.
• Strong understanding of agricultural practices and equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and work in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Agcode or other agriculture software experience a plus
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, self-Starter mentality
• Valid driver’s license
• Flexible work schedule (able to work nights and weekends at times)
• Safety first mentality
