Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced 1st Class Structural Steel Fitter to join our team at Atlas Welding & Fabrication, Inc. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in structural steel fabrication and a strong background in blueprint reading, welding, and precision fitting.
Responsibilities
- Interpret complex blueprints and welding symbols to determine precise component placement and fit.
- Lay out dimensions and cutting lines on steel stock using measuring tools and chalk lines.
- Position and fit steel parts together using hand tools, jigs, and fixtures to ensure proper alignment and tolerances.
- Perform initial welding to temporarily secure components in place before final welding.
- Execute complex welding techniques, including fillet welds, butt welds, and groove welds, with high precision.
- Inspect welds and fitted components to ensure compliance with quality standards.
