Position summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CNC Operator to join our cabinet shop team. As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and operating a CNC machine to produce high-quality cabinetry components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking, CNC operations, and a passion for precision craftsmanship.

Objectives

- Confidently perform basic mathematical functions, including fractions
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn company software including ProCore, Google, Microsoft Office, Gmail, and others.
- Utilize Procore effectively to enhance project clarity, transparency, and opportunities.
- Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods.
- Understand the Scope of Work (SOW) for projects by evaluating specifications, blueprints, and construction documents.
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD files, technical drawings and program CNC machines using software such as Mozaik, Cabinet Vision, or similar CAM software.
- Measure and inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, ensuring all work meets company standards.
- Load and unload materials from the machine, performing setups and adjustments as needed.
- Optimize material usage by minimizing waste and ensuring efficient layouts.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure consistent performance.
- Work closely with designers, project managers, shop managers and assembly teams to meet project deadlines and ensure seamless production.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the CNC area to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts to streamline processes and enhance product quality.
- Communicate with supervisors and project managers to resolve any production issues.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks, such as helping with material handling or finishing work in the shop, as needed.
- Must be willing to cross train, train others, and assist in other positions or locations as needed. This could be for extended periods of time.
- Willing to work overtime as it is mandatory in certain situations.
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or GED Preferred
- Experience in operating CNC machines in a woodworking or cabinetry environment.
- Ability to optimize sheets and generate associated G-code.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software, particularly Mozaik, or VCarve Pro.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, cut lists, and CAD files.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Physical ability to lift materials with a weight of up to 125lbs, stand or sit for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination are essential.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Overtime
