How You Will Make an Impact:
The Engineering Technician to support the design, development, and production of advanced generator systems. This role combines hands-on technical support with mechanical drafting and design responsibilities, offering a dynamic opportunity to collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production teams. The successful candidate will assist in building, wiring, and testing generator units, while also contributing to the creation of detailed CAD drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation using SolidWorks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support engineers in the design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of generator systems and components.
- Assist with the assembly, wiring, and installation of generators, control panels, and related equipment.
- Perform routine testing and quality checks to ensure units meet performance specifications and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production teams to improve manufacturability, resolve technical issues, and enhance product designs using feedback from end users.
- Create and verify engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and regulations.
- Utilize SolidWorks and other CAD tools to prepare and maintain accurate 2D/3D models, drawings, schematics, and bills of materials for R&D and manufacturing.
- Produce technical documentation including work instructions and project-related reports.
- Analyze designs for improvements in efficiency, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness, and participate in design review meetings.
- Maintain organized records of drawings and documentation for easy retrieval and reference. Stay current on CAD software advancements and industry drafting standards (e.g., ASME Y14).
- Know and comply with all safety policies, standards, and procedures that apply to your job.
- Actively participate in all required training and safety meetings.
- Immediately report all incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
- Abide by all policies and procedures established by Moser Energy Systems.
- Assist with any task required by the direct supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma is required.
- An Engineering Technology degree or drafting and modeling experience is preferred.
- 3-5 years of work experience within production environments, manufacturing processes, and/or industrial systems required.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical and/or electrical systems, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to learn and use mechanical and electrical drafting using CAD tools.
- Proficient in piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
- In-depth knowledge of ASME Y14 standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking directions from Project Managers and Engineers.
- Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe.
- Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions.
- Must treat everyone equally with respect and dignity.
- Pass a drug screening.
