ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under the supervision of the supervisor or manager on duty, the Wheelchair Porter Agent is responsible to assist passengers with obtaining baggage in the carousel claim area to meet and greet. The position includes assisting and transporting passengers that need special assistance to and from their assigned gate or other airport location in a friendly, courteous and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Transport baggage from one location to the appropriate location

Be neat and careful when handling the luggage, especially mobility aids luggage

Keep supervisor/manager informed of needs and problems in the assigned areas

Project positive image and respond to inquiries from airlines, staff and public in a courteous manner

Must be in proper uniform attire a directed by company and SIDA LAWA badge must always be visible

Ensure all mobility impaired passengers are given adequate service.

Assist with transporting mobility impaired passengers from their arriving flights to the CIQ/FIS area
-
Assist passengers with completing documentation in order to be processed by US Customs.

Transport passengers and/or baggage out of Customs to the meet and greet area

Transport passengers to their connecting flights/terminals when appropriate

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS

Must be proficient in English
-
Must have a flexible schedule
-
Must have a High School Diploma or higher
-
Able to stay overtime to get the work done in timely prompt manner
-
Must be able to stand and/or walk 4 to 8 hours daily
-
Ability to push a passenger up/down a 6º slope
-
Ability to push a 350 lb passenger on a wheelchair
-
Must be able to lift / carry / push / pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more on a regular basis and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces

Able to communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment

Able to communicate effectively in a professional manner

Ability to work in a team oriented environment

Excellent customer service skills

Strong work ethic

Must complete SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security

Must pass an extensive federal background check plus a post employment drug screening

Must be able to legally work in the U.S.A.

Tech-savvy. Must be proficient in the use of modern technology (computer, devices, cell phone applications, etc.)
