Job Summary:
The Product Applications Engineer will play a critical role in supporting Atmospheric Plasma Solutions (APS) through in-house R&D testing, customer sample evaluations, on-site training, and documentation management. This individual will provide pre- and post-sales technical support, ensuring APS solutions align with customer requirements and industry standards. By serving as the technical resource for APS product offerings and applications, this role directly contributes to the value creation and market adoption of APS technologies.
Major Areas of Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Customer Support:
- Provide technical leadership for customer product support, training, and product engineering efforts to support APS needs.
- Ensure successful onboarding of APS products at customer sites, leading to a seamless and effective experience.
- Act as a primary technical liaison between customers and APS personnel.
- Offer “Voice of the Customer” insights on technical and product application issues, anticipating future Atmospheric Plasma Solutions.
Research & Development Support:
- Assist the R&D/Engineering team in designing experiments and conducting tests.
- Coordinate the planning, execution, reporting, and documentation of testing activities.
Sales & Business Development Support:
- Provide technical qualification criteria to Sales regarding system applications, ensuring alignment with established processes and use cases.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to thoroughly understand technical requirements, specifications, and challenges.
- Establish technical credibility with prospective customers by defining problems and converting solutions into actionable specifications.
- Evaluate technical content and provide recommendations regarding hardware/software solutions and associated risks.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions to support sales and product development.
Product Demonstrations & Documentation:
- Assist Sales with technical demonstrations, prototypes, and reference cases to illustrate APS value propositions.
- Develop and maintain technical content, including documentation for proposals, training materials, and user manuals.
- Build and maintain a database of customer use cases.
Industry Engagement & Professional Development:
- Conduct customer presentations in collaboration with the Sales team.
- Stay informed on industry trends by participating in professional societies, attending tradeshows, and influencing industry standards where applicable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High degree of personal discipline and ability to work independently.
- Global role with expected travel averaging 10%–20%, domestic and international.
- Strong technical aptitude and decision-making skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with cobot/robotics programming a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, SolidWorks/CAD is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Must pass a background check for entry into DoD facilities.
