Job Description:
The Global Safety Program Leader will be a key member of the Corporate HSE team, supporting the strategic development of health and safety culture, risk mitigation and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Identifies new technologies to improve risk mitigation and develops a strategic roadmap to implement across 8 global distribution centers
- Serves as the business subject matter expert on control measures for Powered Industrial Vehicles, Dock Safety, and warehouse Material Handling Safety
- Supports development of HSE procedures and tools to ensure conformance with ISO45001 and ISO14001
- Benchmarks externally with industry peers and develops relationships with key suppliers
- Directly supports Distribution Center site leadership when responding to critical issues such as incident investigation or regulatory compliance findings
- Works with HSE representatives and HSE consultant support at non-US sites to ensure that our employees and third-party logistics (3PL) partners demonstrate regulatory compliance and conformance to Atmus internal policy and procedures
- Supports Distribution Center HSE teams with utilization of Legal Compliance IT system to ensure availability of an up-to-date Legal Register and associated Compliance Task Calendar
- Acts as a trusted business partner to senior leadership including the Global Logistics Leader and each local Supply Chain Leader in their operating country
- Couches site HSE resources across all Atmus sites - manufacturing, technical centers and distribution centers
- Develops processes to fully utilize the capabilities of our HSE IT systems (Benchmark Gensuite), digitalizing workflows, improving data analytics and reporting capabilities
- Works inclusively to gain inputs from stakeholders, creating a learning-oriented environment through adoption of best practices
- Conducts regular support visits to the US Distribution Centers in Dallas and occasionally flexes daily work hours to accommodate meetings with our global teams within their operating time zones
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated role competence is required
- A college, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in relevant health, safety or environmental discipline is preferred
- 5-10 years of experience in a HSE Management role, required
- Experience in Logistics/Distribution Centers HSE management preferred
- Global/multi-regional, or multi-site experience, highly preferred
- Experience with ISO standards 45001 & 14001, preferred
- Ability to successfully develop highly performing teams
- 10-20% travel requirement - both domestic and international
