Job Profile Summary
The Senior Manager, Project Accounting will partner to support the financial close process and improve financial reporting. This will include developing processes and procedures for financial reporting initiatives and system implementations. The role also includes responsibility for general ledger, revenue and asset accounting, and financial statement preparation. This role will help oversee accounting projects and the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting. A successful candidate will have a solid understanding of GAAP accounting. In addition, this candidate should have a strong working knowledge of intracompany accounting and eliminations. The role will help implement strategies to optimize the financial process and improve efficiency. Additionally, this role will develop and direct team members and can resolve escalated issues arising internally or from operations, requiring coordination with other departments.
Duties and Responsibilities (included but not limited to) :
- Oversee team, including day to day task management, on-boarding, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports providing insight to Management.
- Review and approve direct reports journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Provide support in addressing issues identified during the journal entry and account reconciliation review, offering guidance to staff members on corrective actions.
- Assist in complex month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, prepaids and accruals.
- Provide accounting support and guidance for financial and operational teams implementing new systems and processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business activities.
- Collaborate with management to set team goals.
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and ASC 842.
- Other duties as assigned.
