Job Summary:
Under general supervision, utilizes the nursing process to provide professional nursing care to a selected group of clients.
Responsible To:
Charge nurse, Clinical Director of Nursing.
Interrelationships:
Promotes intra/inter departmental relationship with all customers. Identifies customer needs and works to continually improve service excellence. It is accountable for problem solving and service recovery issues in an objective and prompt manner.
Major Activities:
1. Demonstrates a commitment to the highest standards of care, compassion and service while maintaining a safe environment for all customers. Ensures that all care is delivered with the upmost respect and dignity. Safely and effectively performs within the realm of established nursing practice those delegrated medical/nursing tasks and skills required by the patient.
2. Makes comprehensive nursing decisions based on the interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcome.
3. Uses sound nursing judgement in prioritizing, organizing, coordinating and delegating task appropriately.
4. Acts as a positive behaviroal role model, promotes professionalism among all levels of staff and functions as an effective change agent.
5. Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
6. Functions as a resource to staff demonstrating a professional, supportive attitude and positive work enviroment.
7. Demostrates the knowledge adn skill regarding care for the developmental needs of the patients on assisgned unit.
Qualifications/Experience, knowledge:
Must have current knowledge of nursing principles, procedures and ability to perform basic nursing skills. Must have a good physical and mental health; retain emotional stability in situations of varying circumstances and exhibit flexibility for various duties. Possesses the knowledge and skill regarding the developmental needs of the patient population served as well as the skills required to perform processes involved in the delivery of patient care services to that. This includes neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
Certification, Licensure, Bonding:
Currently Licensed as a professional Registered Nurse in the state of Oklahoma. BLS required. Obtain ACLS and PALS within six(6) months of employement.
Physical Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift, pull/push a minimum of 50 pounds, lifting and moving large and heavy equipment and/or patients. Must be able to walk, sit, twist, bend, stand for long periods and have good mobility. May be exposed to infectious diseases with protective measures and follow up treatment provided.

Complies with Atoka County Medical Center Code of Conduct/Ethical Behavior and deparmental procedures and rules.
