Job Summary
The Professional Services Engineer II is responsible for maintaining on-premises and cloud applications, servers, storage, and network equipment for all levels of local and remote users in small to large sized companies that employ a wide variety of software, hardware, and OS configurations. The ideal candidate is skilled at high-level root-cause analysis, able to work with minimal supervision and possess the ability to support infrastructure across a variety of technologies.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate is skilled at high-level root-cause analysis, able to work with minimal supervision and possess the ability to support infrastructure across a variety of technologies.
Essential Functions
- Design, configure, deploy, and maintain applications, servers, storage, and network solutions, both on-premises and in the cloud.
- Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Function as an escalation point for Client Services/NOC team providing support and resolution for Level I and Level II trouble tickets.
- Collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components.
- Create and update internal documentation.
- Effectively communicate with both technical staff and end-users, providing exceptional client service.
- Research and evaluate new hardware and software solutions.
- Identify viable solutions to complex problems in a timely manner.
- Development of scripts for use with automation, installation, configuration, and analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in engineering, mathematics, or computer science. MSP experience (preferred).
- Proficiency in:
- VMware and Microsoft virtualization solutions
- SAN, NAS and backup vendor technology (NetApp, Nimble, Pure Storage, etc.)
- Server OS management and deployment skills
- Microsoft Exchange (OnPrem and/or O365)
- Microsoft Active Directory
- DNS, DHCP, SMTP, firewalls and load balancing
- Systems monitoring software such as Logic Monitor
- Demonstrable and advanced proficiency in systems administration or systems engineering.
- Certifications in Cisco, VMware, AWS, Azure.(Preferred)
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
- Flexibility to support 24/7 operations.
- Reliable transportation to travel to and from Atomic Data facilities and client sites as needed
