Atomic Machines is ushering in a new era in micromanufacturing with its Matter Compiler (MC) technology. The MC enables new classes of micromachines to be designed and built by offering manufacturing processes and a materials library that is inaccessible to semiconductor manufacturing methods. The MC promises to unlock MEMS manufacturing both for the many device classes that never could be made by semiconductor methods but also to open up entirely new classes. Furthermore, the MC is fully digital in the way 3D printing is digital, but where 3D printing produces parts of a single material using a single process, the MC is a multi-process, multi-material technology : bits and raw materials go in and complete, functional micromachines come out. The Atomic Machines team has also created an exciting first device - one that was only made possible by the existence of the Matter Compiler - that we will be unveiling to the world soon.

About the role :
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager / Senior Manager to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for a proactive, hands-on financial leader who is looking to make a big impact at an exciting and fast-paced start-up. This role will report to the Head of Finance. While you will initially be an IC, you will be expected to hire and lead a team to scale the function as the business grows.
The role can be located in either our Berkeley or Santa Clara office.
What You'll Do :
- Manage all accounting functions for the company, driving a robust monthly and annual close process.
- Build an efficient accounts payable and accounts receivable operation.
- Collaborate on the selection and implementation of accounting and financial infrastructure software.
- Run point on our annual external audit. Ensure accounting practices comply with audit requirements.
- Maintain documentation and information required to support a smooth audit process.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Own cost accounting activities, including the development of cost standards for materials and labor.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and drive efficiency and transparency through reporting.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders and to support decision making.
- Assist in product pricing decisions and evaluate cost-saving opportunities.
- Work with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
