Are you looking to join a company where you will directly contribute to both the success and strategy which is core to the business? This position will start as an individual contributor role where you will work directly with one of our founders to bring on new properties. You will be responsible for outreach and closing until you find success closing sales. Following success as a salesperson, you will work with the founders to build a team and your role will ultimately be the following. We expect the ramp up period to be 3-6 months.
This roles compensation is a mix of a base salary & commission. Starting salary is $68,000-$85,000. With comission our total compensation expectation is between $120,000-$225,000.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Vice President of Sales to lead and manage our growing sales team in the short-term rental sector. As the VP of Sales, you will oversee and guide the sales strategy for acquiring new properties to manage, ensuring the achievement of revenue and growth targets. You will be responsible for setting, executing strategic goals, and driving the overall sales performance of the team.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced sales leader with a proven track record in driving business development, managing high-performing teams, and developing innovative strategies to acquire new clients. You will be passionate about the short-term rental industry and possess excellent leadership and communication skills to motivate your team and exceed company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to acquire new short-term rental properties, driving growth and profitability for the company.
- Set clear sales goals and KPIs for the sales team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market conditions.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to help them meet or exceed sales targets.
- Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and results.
- Team Management & Development:
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the sales team, ensuring they are equipped with the resources, tools, and support they need to succeed.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to track progress, resolve challenges, and develop their skills.
- Lead by example, actively participating in sales activities and helping the team close deals as needed.
- Ensure that all team members follow best practices, maintain high levels of professionalism, and deliver exceptional service to property owners.
- Revenue Growth & Market Expansion:
- Identify new opportunities for market expansion, including untapped regions, property types, and potential client segments.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics to adjust the sales strategy as needed and stay ahead of market shifts.
- Work with the marketing and operations teams to ensure alignment of sales and marketing efforts for maximum lead generation and conversion.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and partnerships to attract new property owners.
- Sales Reporting & Analytics:
- Provide detailed sales reports and analysis to the executive team, tracking progress against sales goals, revenue, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Conduct regular performance reviews to assess the sales team's success and adjust strategies as necessary.
- Utilize CRM tools and data analytics to track lead generation, conversion rates, and pipeline performance.
- Report on sales forecasts, market trends, and competitive analysis to inform company strategy and decision-making.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners and key stakeholders in the industry to enhance retention and foster repeat business.
- Serve as the escalation point for major accounts, addressing complex negotiations and resolving any issues related to client acquisition.
- Collaborate with the customer service and onboarding teams to ensure a seamless transition of new properties into the portfolio.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, including marketing, operations, and finance, to align sales efforts with overall company objectives.
- Share market intelligence with the product and operations teams to help improve service offerings and enhance the overall client experience.
- Act as a liaison between the sales team and senior leadership to communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a sales leader, with at least 5 years in a senior sales management role, preferably in short-term rentals, real estate, hospitality, or a related field.
- Experience with CRM Tools like GoHighLevel
- Strong track record of leading and scaling high-performing sales teams, driving business development, and achieving ambitious revenue targets.
- Deep understanding of the short-term rental market, including key platforms like Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities, with a focus on team empowerment and professional development.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data, track sales performance, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficient in CRM tools, sales analytics platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to think strategically while executing tactically to drive results and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently while contributing to the overall success of the team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Experience in short-term rental property management or a related hospitality field.
- Strong network of contacts within the real estate, hospitality, or short-term rental industry.
- Experience working with property management systems (PMS) and revenue management systems (RMS).
- Knowledge of marketing strategies, digital marketing tools, and lead generation tactics.
