Counter Sales Representative
Hours: Monday through Friday 7am-5pm. NO WEEKENDS.
Job Summary/Objective of Job
The individual applying for this position will be responsible for performing a variety of customer service-related duties. These duties will include, but not be limited to, in-store sales, answering sales-related phone calls, providing customers with estimates/options, assisting walk-in customers, looking up parts, creating work/sales orders, creating pick tickets and selling Valley Truck Parts, Inc. parts and services.
Summary of essential job functions
- Promote Valley’s product in a professional manner
- Sells products and/or services to repair the problem, and meet the customer’s needs
- Maintain customer goodwill by greeting and acknowledging all customers he/she comes in contact with
- Record all sales and/or customer transactions that occur
- Follow prescribed cash, credit and check processing procedures of Valley Truck Parts, Inc.
- Attend training as prescribed by management to maintain proficiency in job description
- Use equipment and resources safely and proficiently
- Work with the dispatch to ensure product is delivered to customers in a timely manner
- Follow-up with customers, as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Basic computer/application skills
- Ability to effectively listen and speak one on one
- Ability to interpret customers’ needs
- Good organization skills

- Transmission models & parts
- Differential models & parts
- PTO, pumps, hydraulic valve
- Steering
- 5th Wheel models (be able to identify)
