SUMMARY
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and planning materials for our company. This role is key to ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules and quality standards, optimizing inventory levels, and fostering relationships with suppliers to support production goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with production teams to forecast material needs and develop efficient production schedules
- Analyze inventory, demand trends, and material lead times to create external and intercompany purchase orders
- Verify purchase order confirmations and, if necessary, solicit compliance with the delivery date
- Verify and, if necessary, change the safety stock of purchasing components
- Monitor inventory levels, track key materials, and manage reordering points to ensure material availability without overstocking
- Manage and validate all data within our ERP system (SAP) related to inventory and purchasing
All other duties as assigned within the scope of the job description.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No
WORK SCHEDULE: This is a fully on-site, non-remote position. Schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four-year degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience purchasing and planning within a manufacturing environment for an ERP-driven company
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to compile and analyze data for necessary problem-solving
- Ability to work with changing demands and timelines
- Knowledge and fluent use of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel (SAP experience is a plus)
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Positive attitude and able to work in a team environment.
