We are seeking a skilled Attorney to join our Title team. The ideal candidate must be able to conduct Real Estate settlements while also effectively performing the job functions outlined below. Position Title : Title / Real Estate Attorney
Location : Rockville, Maryland / Tyson's VA / Tenleytown DC
Job Type : Full-time
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage real estate closings, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
Prepare and review deeds, contracts, powers of attorney, trust documents, title abstract reports, and any other legal documents relevant to settlements
Provide legal advice to real estate agents and their clients, while representing our Title Company
Lead / teach educational classes relevant to real estate
Review land records and chain-of-title
Assist in resolving any title claims
Assist in various other relevant legal matters
Conduct thorough title searches, reviews, and resolve any issues related to title insurance.
Provide legal counsel on real estate transactions, including purchase agreements, leases, and financing.
Collaborate with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth transactions.
Stay updated with local, state, and federal real estate laws and regulations.
Engage in business development activities to expand the firm's client base.
Maintain and grow an existing book of business, if applicable.
Proficiency in legal research
Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents
Experience in litigation and negotiation
Knowledge of Legal administrative tasks
Ability to analyze complex legal issues effectively
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in Washington DC, Maryland, and / or Virginia.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the title or real estate industry.
Strong understanding of title insurance, real estate closings, and related legal procedures.
Excellent client service skills with a focus on providing an unparalleled client experience.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships and generate new business.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Existing book of business that can generate immediate revenue for the firm.
Proven track record in business development within the legal or real estate industry.
Familiarity with local real estate market trends and conditions.
