Job Description

Job Title : Systems Administrator

Location : Silver Spring, MD - Hybrid Remote - Primarily remote with occasional work at our data center in

Silver Spring and occasional on-site meetings in downtown Bethesda

Eligibility : H-1B Holders, Green Card Holders, and US Citizens are eligible

Job Description :

  • Install and upgrade Linux and Windows servers
  • Assess the stability, security, and scalability of Linux and Windows

systems

  • Troubleshoot firewall and network policies (LAN, WAN, VPN)
  • Review system error logs and user-reported errors
  • Manage user access and maintain server architecture security
  • Support staff and back-end system users and developers
  • Create and monitor system backups
  • Create and troubleshoot shell scripts
  • Create and monitor automation scripts
  • Work with relational databases to ensure seamless data storage and

    • retrieval.

    Key Skills and Qualifications :

  • Advanced Linux skills
  • Strong shell programming / bash scripting
  • Backups (rsync over ssh)
  • Experience with databases, preferably PostgreSQL
  • System performance monitoring, preferably Nagios
  • DNS (bind / Win DNS)
  • Samba and NFS
  • Have a car and be able to lift at least 55 pounds

    • Nice-to-Have Skills :

  • Experience at a data center
