What are the responsibilities and job description for the Composite Material and Process Lab Engineer position at ATR International?
We are seeking a Composite Material and Process Lab Engineer for a very important client.
Scope of Work
Composite material formulation development and evaluation
- Organize and track incoming material for development
- Perform material configuration DOEs to achieve cosmetic and structural performance targets defined by each program
- Perform process DOEs to determine optimal thermal profiles for thermoplastic composite insert overmolding
- Fabricate laminates from developmental formulations of composite prepregs made with recycled carbon fiber and other recycled / chopped fiber fillers. Measure cosmetic, mechanical, and physical properties of materials.
- Perform material DOEs involving fabricating test panels using high-thermal conductivity reinforcements and fillers. Prepare specimens for testing. Measure structural and thermal performance. Consolidate results.
- Report results of DOEs and tests.
- Develop molding guidelines based on results of material and process DOEs
