Engineering Technician, Intermediate
Day Shift
8:30am-5:00pm
Monday to Friday
6 months, could extend or convert to direct hire depending on the business needs
Must clear DMV check
Job Description & General Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for functions in support of engineering activities. This will include, but not limited to, installation and relocating of equipment, installing cabling (Coax, Ethernet, and fiber optics), supporting engineering lab equipment, and any other support activities required to support engineering.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform daily activities as defined by management to support engineering
Performing software and hardware upgrades
Installation of coax, Ethernet, and fiber optics cabling
Building racks and installing equipment following rack elevation and wiring diagrams
Able to work in priority order as defined by management and project leads
Assist with lab moves as well as cleaning and organization efforts
Required Competencies:
Familiarity of Windows 10 and/or Linux
Ability to following instructions and published documentation
Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong customer service skills and time management
Ability to collaborate and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A willingness to learn and be flexible with daily job assignments
TOP 5 REQUIRED SKILLS (same as 5025507-1)
1. Proficient in different operating systems including Windows and Linux (Centos/RHEL), including Linux CLI
2. Familiarity with some RF equipment like Spectrum analyzer, Network analyzer
3. Proficient in Debugging methodology and problem solving
4. Familiarity with common coaxial and network cabling types, along with appropriate application
5. Excellent Communication Skills, written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic understanding of TCP/IP including DNS and DHCP
Basic understanding of Widows and/or Linux OS systems
Formal electronics education via military or trade school

Required Years of Experience:
1.5 years of experience with design, development, R&D, or similar experience in Electronics or related area.
Education Requirements:
Military communications, radar, electronics schooling
Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology or similar, or equivalent work experience
Physical Requirements
Push/Pull/Lift Max Weight Limit -35-50lb.
Driving Requirements
Significant driving per week in a company test van
Time driving test vans ~10 hours per week
Racking equipment and cabling: ~15 hours per week
Equipment setup and imaging: ~10 hours per week
General Lab Support: ~5 hours per week
This will require the ability to do drive, debug and electronics knowledge. This will also require strong Linux and Windows.
