License : RCS / RDCS required
Certifications : BLS required, ACLS highly preferred
Must-Have : RCS / RDCS and BLS certification; ability to perform cardiac ultrasound independently
Job Description :
- Perform diagnostic echocardiograms and stress echo procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Achieve accurate quality information in echocardiographic imaging while following procedural guidelines and protocols.
- Explain and clarify established procedures and possible side effects to patients to alleviate fears.
- Confirm all physician requests and evaluate patients' clinical history for proper clinical indicators.
- Demonstrate knowledge and use of equipment needed to perform echocardiograms.
- Plan and coordinate with team members for an interdisciplinary approach.
- Initiate and maintain orderly and complete departmental records.
- Demonstrate clinical field knowledge through certification, journal presentations, or workshop attendance.
- Contribute to the organizational and departmental team environment and attend meetings.
- Recommend opportunities for improvement and participate in the accreditation process, including quality assurance.
- Handle departmental reports and forms clerically.
Skills :
Education : High School Diploma or GED required.
Languages : Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
