Job Summary:
Gastroenterology Physicians diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of gastrointestinal conditions, from irritable bowel syndrome and Crohn's disease to liver disorders and GI cancers. They perform diagnostic procedures like endoscopies and colonoscopies, interpret imaging and lab tests, and develop individualized treatment plans that may include medications, lifestyle changes, or dietary guidance. Working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, they collaborate closely with primary care doctors, surgeons, and other specialists to provide comprehensive patient care. They educate patients on preventive care and screening, maintain accurate medical records, and stay current with the latest advancements in GI care through ongoing education and research initiatives.

Job Summary:

Physician Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited medical school with an M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at an accredited healthcare institution.
- Possession of a current North Carolina Medical License as an M.D. or D.O., or the ability to obtain one.
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology following fellowship completion.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration for prescription writing.
- Robust Benefits: Comprehensive package including relocation bonus, retirement contributions (up to 7% employer-sponsored plus matching up to 2%) of salary, malpractice coverage, health benefits starting on day one, and more.
- CME Reimbursement: Up to $3,500 plus 5 additional PTO days/year.
- Generous PTO: Starts at 20 days/year plus 7 holidays, with 5 additional PTO days for CME activities during the initial 2-year term. Transition to a Managed Time Off (MTO) plan offering flexibility after the initial two-year term.
- Additional Benefits: All physicians get salary continuation, which provides for full salary for up to 6 months of medical or disability leave.
- Term Clause: Contract has a 90 day out clause at any time, including during the initial term.
- Restriction Clause: Non-compete clause of 25 miles for 1 year.
- Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF): Our not-for-profit 501(c)(3) status qualifies for PSLF.
- Technology: Encompass EMR system (Epic) for seamless patient care.
