Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking full-time New Grad RNs for our Emergency Department Academy and Nurse Residency
at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, located in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. A New Graduate Nurse is either a current nursing student nearing graduation from an RN program or a recent graduate with less than six months of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
Position Highlights
The New Graduate Nurse provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). They lead and direct other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.

- Unit: The Wilkes ED is a 24-bed unit with 4 additional psych beds, and an average daily census of 84 across all age ranges. It features a team of Emergency Medicine board-certified physicians and a collaborative approach to patient care. The facility includes modern, spacious rooms with all beds equipped for cardiac monitoring.
- Facility: Wilkes Medical Center, a community hospital in North Wilkesboro, NC, combines the expertise of a globally recognized academic medical center with 120 acute care beds and 10 skilled nursing beds, offering exceptional, accredited health care close to home.
- ED Academy: This 24-week academy integrates didactic instruction, clinical experience, and simulations with engaging content, allowing nurses to master emergency care for both adult and pediatric patients.

What You’ll Need
- Less than 6 months of RN experience
- Graduation from accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
