Our client, a leading manufacturer of aviation and avionics equipment, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their team based in Clearwater, FL. This is an incredible opportunity for a Cost Accountant to be involved in a highly visible position while earning the opportunity to become a Manager quickly. The Cost Accountant must be technically strong, comfortable taking ownership of their respective financials, and be familiar with cost accounting principles and concepts.
Salary / Hourly Rate :
75k - $85k
Position Overview :
The Cost Accountant will report directly to the Controller and primarily assist in the general assurance that accounting is accurate, specifically during month close. The Controller will serve as a lead on the cost accounting function. Supported by a team, you will be instrumental in documenting procedures and establishing internal controls.
Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant :
- Prepares and processes journal entries and reconciliations monthly.
- Responsible for analysis of inventory and fixed assets.
- Assists with planning, collecting, and analyzing data to determine the costs of business activity.
- Performs daily / weekly review of job cost and respective entries within the GL and continually monitors and corrects job cost through variance analysis.
- Maintains fixed assets in the ERP system, Construction in Progress, and accounts for new additions of disposition of assets and reporting.
- Supports the annual budgeting and planning process and participates in periodic audits as scheduled.
