Our client oversees a portfolio of functional dietary supplement brands, including a range of established and acquired brands across various markets. Each brand is uniquely positioned to deliver superior consumer experiences within its respective category and target segment. Our client is seeking a Formulation Chemist (Capsules / Powders) to work on capsules, powders, and gummies. This role will be instrumental in new product development, market expansion, and establishing technical partnerships to support our client's growth ambitions.
Salary / Hourly Rate :
35 / hr - $38 / hr
Position Overview :
Working cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Chain, SEAC, Quality, Regulatory teams, contract labs, and raw material suppliers, the Formulation Chemist (Capsules / Powders) will ensure the timely and successful delivery of cutting-edge products. From formulation design to scale-up, this role requires technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving to develop high-quality, consumer-preferred solutions. The Formulation Chemist (Capsules / Powders) works on site 5 days a week.
Responsibilities of the Formulation Chemist (Capsules / Powders) :
- Participate in research and development efforts for new and improved powder, tablet, and gummy formulations.
- Optimize formulations for quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct experiments to test new ingredients, flavors, and textures.
- Analyze data to make informed product development decisions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challenges in gummy production.
- Ensure regulatory and legal compliance for all products and processes.
- Identify and implement appropriate manufacturing technologies at the lab and pilot scale.
- Define and maintain specifications for raw materials, formulations, and finished products.
- Support shelf-life studies and develop strategies to enhance product longevity.
- Utilize analytical techniques to assess the physical and sensory attributes of products.
- Collaborate with packaging, consumer insights, regulatory, and processing teams.
- Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to drive innovation.
- Maintain detailed records of formulations, test results, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams to align on product goals.
- Uphold safety and quality standards in laboratory and production environments.
- Proactively assess and mitigate environmental, safety, regulatory, and competitive risks.
