Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Security Service/Install Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting security systems, including alarms, access control, CCTV, and related equipment. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service to ensure optimal system performance and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, program, and configure security systems, including alarm systems, surveillance cameras (CCTV), security, data, and audio prewires.
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on existing security systems.
- Test and verify system functionality to ensure proper operation.
- Run and terminate cables, including low-voltage wiring.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for system installations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding system usage.
- Ensure installations comply with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and system documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and other technicians to ensure efficient installations.
- Stay updated on the latest security technology and industry trends.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification or associate degree preferred).
- Experience in security system installation and service (1-3 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and related technologies.
- Familiarity with brands such as Honeywell, DSC, Bosch, Hikvision, Axis, etc., is a plus.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, work on ladders, and in various environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Low-voltage or electrical certifications (e.g., NICET, BICSI, or manufacturer certifications).
- Experience with IP-based security systems and networking.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems (if applicable).
