Job Summary :
Researches, develops, designs, and evaluates electrical components, equipment, and systems for food, drug and chemical batch process capital equipment and subsystems. Responsible for all electrical engineering functions. (Has responsibility for power wiring design and MCC, sensing components and actuating components and interface to PLC based controls.) The Controls Engineer lll is very knowledgeable on multiple subdomains and participates in overall standardization initiatives globally throughout the organization. They help the department Lead to train and direct technical tasks with less experienced engineers and develop domain knowledge plus standard work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Confers with other engineering and technical personnel as well as customers to resolve problems of intent, inaccuracy, or feasibility of systems process functions as related program development.
- Reviews results of computer runs with interested personnel to determine necessity for modifications or reruns.
- Designs for fabrication of control or power apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products.
- Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial and / or industrial, freeze drying or related pharmaceutical process equipment.
- Participates in the control systems standards group.
- Helps to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Interfaces with all levels of engineering associates and customers to resolve all related control issues in process equipment function.
- Handles multiple projects and assignments for concurrent flow through engineering and production.
