Position Overview:
York Hospital in York, Maine, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Oncology Service Line team. This full-time position consists of 36 hours per week, primarily working four 9-hour shifts (7:30 am to 5:00 pm) on variable days. Occasional weekend shifts may be required.
This role involves providing high-quality care to chemotherapy, infusion, and oncology patients, including supporting physician office visits. The nurse will be expected to travel between our three sites in York, Kittery, and Wells as needed.
Requirements:
Education and Certification:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certifications (required).
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification (preferred).
Experience:
- Prior experience in oncology nursing, chemotherapy administration, and infusion services is highly desirable.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with patients and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in managing oncology patients' needs and responding to treatment-related challenges.
Additional Requirements:
- Flu vaccination is required per the State of Maine guidelines, regardless of the season.
