Department Overview:
The Samaritan Health Services Laboratory Team supports diagnostic testing through processing and analyzing blood, body fluids, and tissue samples. The labs operate 24/7, providing critical testing for hospital inpatients, emergency room patients, and outpatient/clinic specimens. All laboratories are CLIA-licensed and CAP-accredited, ensuring high standards of quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages to collect quality samples for diagnostic testing.
- Accurately label and handle specimens to ensure timely and correct analysis.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with laboratory safety and accreditation standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service by ensuring patient comfort and minimizing discomfort during procedures.
Qualifications:Experience/Education:
- Completion of an approved Phlebotomy Training Program or a minimum of one (1) year of recent phlebotomy experience is required.
Certifications:
- Phlebotomy Certification or registration as a Certified Medical Assistant is mandatory.
- Healthcare Provider Level BLS certification is required.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
