Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws to collect blood samples from patients.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during the blood collection process.
- Verify patient identification and ensure proper labeling of specimens.
- Maintain aseptic technique to prevent contamination of samples.
- Record vital signs and relevant patient information accurately.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient service.
- Adhere to laboratory procedures and protocols for specimen handling and processing.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment within the laboratory.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and laboratory techniques is essential.
- Previous experience in patient care, particularly in a hospital or clinical setting, is preferred.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to blood collection and handling.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients.
