Psych RN

Position Overview:

The RN in the Emergency Psychiatric Services department provides both direct and indirect patient care, leveraging the nursing process in all assigned areas. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and updating individualized interdisciplinary care plans.
• Evaluating patient outcomes and identifying resources.
• Caring for patients aged 5 and older with psychiatric illnesses and occasional medical needs.

This role is at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, a leading behavioral healthcare facility in New England, known for its comprehensive psychiatric care.

Key Patient Populations:

• Primary Diagnoses: Major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, psychotic disorders.
• Additional Populations: Patients requesting or requiring detoxification.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• 2-Year Associate Degree required.

Licensure/Certifications:

• Valid State of Maine RN license.
• BLS Certification (current).
• CPI training (must be current prior to start).

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health nursing required.

Skills:

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Effective team collaboration.
• Ability to manage stress and make decisions under pressure.
• Flexibility to provide coverage 24/7

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $65.00 - $69.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
