Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Billing and Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess all working knowledge of billing/collections, ICD-10 and CPT codes as well as third party operating procedures. The specialist will also provide effective payroll processing skills, including tracking PTO and sick leave for all employees.
Duties
- Prepares and submit clean claims to all insurance companies through various web portals and billing software and assures claims are processed in a timely manner to avoid timely filing issues.
- Reports issues with timesheets, coding and diagnosis issues in the claims submitting process.
- Posts payments and write offs to payment accounts by utilizing EOB/ERA and posts co-payments submitted by credit card or checks received.
- Calls commercial insurance companies to verify eligibility and co-payment amounts before client referral is prepared for an assessment. Enters all data into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system for billing and admin purposes.
- Requests all pre-authorizations from commercial insurance where indicated, notes in EMR having requested and date received.
- Calls insurance companies to verify differentials in insurance benefits or eligibility when changes occur.
- Reports all issues to client’s therapist regarding insurance or private payments.
- Reports all issues with claims to CEO that may affect the financial stability of the agency.
- Conducts all training of new hires on EMR system. Provides needed documentation for such trainings, i.e. PowerPoint presentations of instructions.
- Enters all new hire information into EMR system granting them access to system.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of billing/collection, ICD-10 and CPT codes and third-party operating procedures.
- Minimum Field of Expertise: Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, office equipment, and telephone etiquette and procedures
