The Sober Living Housing Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of the sober living facility, including maintaining a safe and structured environment, enforcing house rules, and providing guidance and support to residents. This position plays a key role in fostering a positive, recovery-focused community.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the sober living home to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
- Conduct regular room and facility inspections to ensure compliance with house rules and safety standards.
- Monitor and address maintenance needs in collaboration with the property manager.
- Enforce house rules and guidelines, addressing any violations promptly and fairly.
- Build positive relationships with residents to provide encouragement, accountability, and support in their recovery journey.
- Facilitate regular house meetings to address concerns, share updates, foster community, and Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of resident activities, incidents, and attendance.
- Track resident compliance with program requirements, such as curfews and chore schedules.
- Assist in onboarding new residents, including orientations and reviewing house rules.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support resident needs and program goals.
- Communicate effectively with the treatment team to report resident progress and concerns.
- Serve as a liaison between residents and program staff to ensure open communication and mutual understanding.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in recovery support, residential programs, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of addiction recovery principles and 12-step programs.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to enforce rules with fairness and consistency while maintaining empathy.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured under the organization’s vehicle insurance policy.
- Certified Peer Support Specialist.
- CDCA (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant) credential.
- QMHS III (Qualified Mental Health Specialist Level III) certification.
- Lived experience in recovery (with at least 2 years of continuous sobriety).
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of local recovery resources and support networks.
- Leadership: Ability to lead by example and create a positive, respectful community environment.
- Conflict Resolution: Skilled in managing disputes and addressing issues constructively.
- Dependability: Reliable and consistent in fulfilling responsibilities and being present for residents.
- Adaptability: Comfortable handling a dynamic environment and responding to challenges effectively.
