What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Professional Services position at ATTAINX INC?
Location: Work shall be conducted at the Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Field Office (HFO) and the Hanford Site in Richland, WA. This position may be telework eligible at the discretion of the DOE Technical Monitor (TM) in consultation with the DOE Contracting Officer (CO). If this position is identified as telework eligible, there will be a 30-day waiting period in which 100% in-office support will be expected. If in-person support is identified as required for any reason and for any length of time by the DOE TM or DOE CO, it is required to report for duty in-person as requested.
Citizenship: US citizenship required
Compensation: $125,000.00- $170,000.00. The salary range may vary based on years of experience, skillset, educational level and relevant professional background. You will receive a competitive total rewards package that is applicable to the U.S. only.
Scope of Work Summary: AttainX, Inc. is in search of a Safety Professional Services candidate to support our government client, DOE. The position will be supporting the Assistant Manager for Safety and Environment (AMSE).
Minimum Required Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in health physics (HP), physics, science, industrial hygiene (IH) or engineering.
- 10 years of experience in chemical safety management or process safety management.
- Excellent management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Certified health professional (HP).
- Certified industrial hygienist (IH).
- A master's degree or PhD in HP, physics, science or engineering.
- Certified safety professional.
- Experience with process safety management.
- Provide expert safety professional services for the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) to perform reviews of industrial and construction safety programs.
- Assess the WTP contractors' compliance with applicable laws, regulations or directives as codified in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 835, Occupational Radiation Protection; 10 CFR 851, Worker Safety and Health Program and 10 CFR 850, Chronic Beryllium Disease Prevention Program (CBDPP).
- Assist the DOE Chemical Safety Manager in oversight of the Chemical Safety Management Program (CSMP) and Process Safety Management (PSM) Program.
- Apply expert knowledge of process system safety and understanding of defense-in-depth and layer of protection analysis to oversee CSMP and PSM Program.
- Integrate with a diverse discipline team to evaluate implementation of the CSMP and PSM Program effectively and comprehensively.
- Assist the DOE Chemical Safety Manager in review and approval of submitted CSMP deliverables.
