What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wait Staff/Server position at Atterdag Village of Solvang?
Waitstaff position provides customer service in Nutrition Service areas of all facilities, Atterdag Village of Solvang, Atterdag Assisted Living, Atterdag Memory Care, and Atterdag Care Center as needed. This person reports directly to the Dining Room Supervisor and is also directed by the Nutrition Services Director.
Requirements
- Must pass state required physical, and TB test.
- Must be fingerprinted and free of conviction.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, receive written and oral instructions and possess good interaction skills.
- Must be able to safely perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Prior experience prefered.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to all residents and visitors.
- Wait on residents and visitors during meal times, including taking order for food and drinks, serving and clearing dishes.
- Clear tables and set tables for next meal time.
- Check station and assigned tables prior to service for missing items.
- Prepare coffee and set up food tables.
- Check daily production sheets for required items needed for menu being served and prepare them for food service.
- Check daily production sheets for required items needed in special functions or events.
- Prepare Salad Bar and buffet area for service and clear and clean as scheduled and when needed.
- Check, clean and restock food service areas in all facilities, including, but not limited to: Memory Care dining room and wait station. Assisted Living wait station, Care Center wait station and AVS dining room and wait station.
- Prepare other items as scheduled or as assigned.
- Be present at pre-service meetings to discuss menu and other service requirements prior to meal times and events.
- Clean coffee machines, ice tea machines, etc., per schedule.
- Clean waitstaff food production areas throughout shift.
- Mop waitstaff area floors.
- Utilize appropriate chemical dilutions to ensure proper infection control.
- Keep items stocked, such as sugar, salt, butter, cream and other condiments.
- Check with supervisor before leaving the floor for breaks and end of shift.
- Attend staff meetings, department meetings, and inservices as required, make reports and maintains files as required by state and federal regulations.
- Adhere to all regulatory standards including maintaining of administrative records as required by facility policies as well as state and federal regulations.
- Wear required Dress Code items, including non-slip shoes, and when required safety related protective equipment.
- Performs related work as required.
