COELHO MIDDLE SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL 2025-2026
Attleboro Public Schools seeks an exemplary leader to foster an environment of high standards where student achievement is the focus of all decision-making. Candidates must have an established record of instructional leadership contributing to a school culture that promotes rigorous learning for all students, effective communication with all stakeholders, and committed support for all staff.
Description:
- Evaluates teachers and other staff members in accordance with The Massachusetts Model System for Educator Evaluation. Oversees appropriate performance improvement plans as necessary
- Assesses student behavior during the school day and at all sports, Saturday sessions, social and extracurricular events. Initiates appropriate disciplinary action as required in accordance with all school policies
- Leads teachers and staff in the pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning and evaluates various types of assessment data
- Supports IEP, 504, SST and other meetings with teachers, other building and district professionals, parents and students
- Supports the principal with the master schedule and the scheduling of all students
- Supports the principal and other staff with the coordination of all standardized assessments
- Responsible for school wide schedule changes for events such as assemblies, school delays, lunch changes, and school wide events
- Supports school improvement initiatives to increase family involvement, engagement, and inclusion.
- Assists in the management of school wide behavior/ discipline.
- Supports teachers of english learner (EL) students.
- Serves as principal when necessary
- Fulfills numerous other duties as assigned by the principal
Qualifications:
- Must be certified as a Principal/Assistant Principal grades 5-8
- Must have experience with special education law
- Must have experience with scheduling (preferably Follett Aspen)
- Must have experience in the evaluation of staff members
- Must have experience with school discipline and behavior management
- Must effectively communicate to all stakeholders (parents, students, staff, etc.)
- Successful teaching experience, preferably at the middle school level, and preferably in more than one grade level
- Safety Care training preferred
