eDiscovery and Litigation Technology Coordinator

The Tennessee Attorney General and Reporter represents all state officials, employees, agencies, departments, boards, and commissions in matters arising from their public duties. Such representation includes litigation, transactional assistance, and general legal advice to a wide variety of state entities. The Attorney General’s Office employs approximately 200 attorneys, organized into 17 divisions within 5 sections.

About the eDiscovery and Litigation Technology Team:

Our eDiscovery and Litigation Technology team combines technical expertise with legal knowledge to implement and manage eDiscovery platforms, develop workflows for efficient document review, provide technical support during hearings and trials, and train legal professionals on emerging legal technology.

Job Overview:

  • Provide technical litigation support services to attorneys and clients
  • Perform administrative functions associated with the day-to-day use of litigation support software eDiscovery databases, including but not limited to: database creation and maintenance; importing images, data and transcripts; searching and exporting data; document scanning, OCR and coding; and document productions
  • Assist in the preparation of documents and exhibits for trial
  • Receive and log incoming discovery materials; maintains chain of custody and other tracking documentation for media and data, both received and produced
  • Contribute to internal process development, preparing workflows and other documentation
  • Reports to Manager of Litigation Support

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a litigation support or legal technology
  • Strong understanding of the EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model)
  • Proficiency with eDiscovery platforms (Relativity, Everlaw, etc.), with preference for Everlaw
  • Experience with providing end-user support on all Litigation Support applications

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Understanding of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure relevant to eDiscovery
  • Knowledge of legal holds and preservation procedures
  • Experience providing courtroom technology support
  • Experience with:

o text editing tools such as Ultraedit or TextPad;

o advanced Adobe Pro capabilities such as bookmarking and document merging/splitting, and OCR;

o CaseMap, TimeMap, Sanction, and MS Office suite, including Outlook and Excel;

o handling data transfers; and

o data encryption using Bitlocker or other encryption tools
