We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pipe Fitter with a strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to join our team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial piping systems across a variety of applications. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial environment, proficiency in pipefitting techniques, and the ability to work efficiently and safely under a range of conditions.Key Responsibilities : Installation & Assembly : Install, assemble, and maintain industrial piping systems for water, gas, air, or chemical distribution.Ensure all installations meet the required design specifications, safety standards, and codes by accurately following blueprints and technical drawings.Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation : Read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of piping systems, identify pipe sizes and fittings, and ensure all components are accurately positioned.Modify and adjust designs as needed to address unforeseen issues or design changes, ensuring systems are installed or repaired correctly.Pipe Cutting, Bending & Welding : Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to fit system requirements using manual tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.Weld, solder, or braze pipes when necessary, ensuring strong and leak-free connections.System Maintenance & Repair : Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial piping systems, including leak detection, pressure issues, and pipe blockages.Perform routine maintenance and inspections on piping systems to ensure proper function and prevent system failures.Pressure Testing & Inspections : Test piping systems for leaks, proper flow, and pressure, using air or water pressure testing equipment.Conduct visual inspections to identify and resolve potential issues such as corrosion, wear, or damage to piping materials.Safety & Compliance : Follow all safety regulations and guidelines while working on industrial systems, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory bodies.Adhere to safety protocols related to hazardous materials handling, confined space entry, and the operation of welding equipment.Collaboration & Communication : Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to coordinate and complete projects in a timely and efficient manner.Report on the progress of ongoing work, highlighting any challenges, changes in scope, or material needs.Record Keeping : Keep accurate records of all work performed, including system layouts, materials used, modifications, and inspection reports.Ensure all changes to original blueprints or designs are documented and approved.Qualifications : Experience : 3-5 years of experience as a pipe fitter in an industrial environment, with proven expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems.Familiarity with working in industrial settings such as manufacturing plants, chemical facilities, refineries, or power plants.Blueprint & Drawing Skills : Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to determine pipe sizes, layouts, and system configurations.Experience making adjustments to designs based on site conditions or technical requirements.Technical Skills : Proficient in using pipefitting tools, welding equipment, cutting and threading machines, and pipe-bending tools.Knowledge of pipe materials (e.G., steel, copper, PVC) and the methods used to join them (e.G., welding, soldering, brazing).Problem-Solving : Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues in industrial piping systems, ensuring minimal downtime and operational disruption.Safety Conscious : Strong understanding of safety practices and the ability to work in compliance with industry safety standards, including the proper handling of hazardous materials and confined spaces.Physical Requirements : Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and elevated work areas.Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment, and work in a variety of conditions (e.G., high temperatures, noisy environments).Preferred Qualifications : Certifications : Pipefitter certification or equivalent trade school training preferred.OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification, or other relevant safety certifications.Welding certifications (e.G., TIG, MIG) a plus.Additional Experience : Experience with high-pressure systems, steam, or specialized industrial systems is a plus.Experience in an industrial maintenance role or with automated piping systems is also desirable.
