Foreman Tree Care

Are you an experienced leader with a passion for the outdoors? We're looking for a Foreman to join our team in Hot Springs, Virginia! This is a full-time position where you’ll oversee a crew performing tree work for utility and private customers while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Position Overview: As a Foreman, you will supervise a crew and manage all activities related to tree work, ensuring work is completed to specifications, maintaining equipment, and following safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Crew Supervision:
• Make employment decisions, review performance, and make salary recommendations.
• Assign work, provide training, and guide subordinates.
• Hire personnel and resolve routine personnel issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and maintain good public relations.
• Complete paperwork related to the assigned job and ensure adequate tools and materials are available.
• Maintain and service trucks and equipment.
• Tree Work Duties:
• Obtain necessary permissions and meet with utilities or city representatives as required.
• Operate various equipment including chainsaws, wood chippers, aerial lifts, and more.
• Obtain necessary state arborist and pesticide licenses.
• Climb trees using conventional aids or mechanized aerial devices.
• Walk on uneven terrain and report crew locations as needed.
• Perform basic first aid and hold a valid CDL driver’s license.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure all work is performed according to safety specifications and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise and motivate a crew.
• Must be proficient in operating chainsaws, wood chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Valid CDL driver’s license and ability to obtain a medical card under FMCSA.
• Ability to climb trees using conventional climbing aids or mechanized aerial devices.
• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Basic first aid training.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to push, pull, bend, twist, kneel, and crawl.
• Stand and walk for extended periods, sometimes on uneven terrain.
• Lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Exposure to temperature extremes and use of vibratory tools.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
