The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing high-level financial analysis, overseeing complex accounting functions, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to support decision-making across various financial functions. Working closely with finance leadership, the Senior Accountant will contribute to month-end close, audit support, and financial reporting activities, helping to ensure accurate and timely financial information. The Senior Accountant will also oversee day to day transactions to ensure accurate and timely processes.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Analyze results and trends, providing insights and recommendations.
- Month-End Close: Lead month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis. Ensure all entries are completed accurately and on time.
- Reconciliations: Conduct complex reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Audit Preparation & Compliance: Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, maintaining organized documentation, and collaborating with auditors to address inquiries.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working with various departments to align financial projections with company objectives.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, contributing to enhanced efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable Oversight: Provide oversight for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and resolution of issues.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, in a manufacturing or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in ERP systems
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience in POC accounting and government accounting.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, standards, and software systems, including ERP systems. – Visibility a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in a private company, multi-site, 500 employees
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Salary : $75,000 - $110,000
