Steel shop Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shop Manager to oversee operations in a fabrication shop in Columbia, TN . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal work and experience with various fabrication techniques. As the Shop Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining safety standards, and leading a team of skilled workers. This role requires hands-on expertise and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Duties

• Supervise and coordinate activities of shop floor personnel engaged in steel fabrication.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate production.
• Monitor production schedules and adjust workflow to meet deadlines.
• Train, mentor, and support shop staff in fabrication techniques and quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements at all times.
• Maintain inventory levels and order materials as needed to support production schedules.
• Inspect fabricated products before shipment.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to resolve any production issues or design changes.

Requirements

Proven experience (3 years) as a Steel Fabricator or similar role, with demonstrated ability in reading blueprints and technical drawings.

Strong knowledge of welding techniques and processes (MIG, TIG, Arc welding, etc.).

Proficient in MS Office and industry-specific software

Pay: $60,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
