This is a 2nd shift position 6pm – 3am Monday – Friday

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Sanitation Technician will be responsible for:

• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of department area and equipment.
• Wash, clean and sanitize all production batching and filling equipment.
• Wash, clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, pots & pans and utensils.
• Ensure proper stock levels of chemicals and supplies are readily available as needed by communicating with management.
• Operate large scales, small balances, mixers, forklifts and other electric pallet movers and drum lifts.
• Follow prescribed safety policies as established by the company.
• Demonstrate willingness to work overtime as required. Available for weekend hours work schedules if needed to fulfill customer requirements.

Knowledge / Abilities / Skills

• Sanitation training and certification, or ability to gain certification
• Understand and follow SOPs and GMP guidelines
• Experience working in a food manufacturing or food production facilities
• Ability to comprehend on-the-job training
• Requires a high degree of attention to detail.
• Basic mechanical knowledge of mixing and weighing equipment
• Basic Reading and Comprehension - Read, write and speak English fluently.
• Satisfactory safety record and work performance.
• Committed to reliable attendance & completion of work assignments
• Understand importance of teamwork and how it applies to the production environment.
• Willingness to share new ideas with others.
• Able to pass fit test to wear a cartridge respirator.

Physical Demands:

• Medium - Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
• Ability to stand for a long period of time as well as raise and move up to 50 pounds unassisted and maneuver drums weighing approximately 440 pounds.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours and flexible shifts.
