Job Details

  • Position Title : Staff Nurse- Cardiac / Thoracic
  • General job duties : Types of procedures required include open heart, pacemaker, laser lead extraction, VATS, thoracotomy.
  • Equipment utilized : Computerized charting (surginet), TMR laser.
  • Required skills : Cardiac / Thoracic 3 years experience.
  • Nurse to patient ratio : 1 : 1.
  • Dress Code : OR scrubs provided.
  • Unit orientation with nurse educator and cardiac / thoracic charge nurse.

    • Job Requirements

  • GA or compact license required
  • 3 years experience as a Cardiac / Thoracic RN
  • BLS through AHA required
  • Recent level 1 or level 2 trauma experience required
  • Proficient with : open heart, pacemaker, laser lead extraction, VATS, thoracotomy.

    • Schedule Information

  • Day shift 0630 – 1500
  • Call (weekday & weekend) rotated among 3 cardiac / thoracic nurses.

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Floating to other units / departments : N / A
