Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Baker to join our team in Los Olivos, United States. As a Baker in our organization, you will be responsible for creating a wide variety of delicious baked goods, from artisanal bread to exquisite pastries. The ideal candidate will combine creativity with technical skill to produce high-quality products that delight our customers.
- Prepare and bake a diverse range of bread, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according to recipes and quality standards
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by kitchen management
- Set up and maintain a clean and organized baking station
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of baked items
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Participate in menu development and suggest new baked goods or improvements to existing recipes
- Train and mentor junior bakers or assistants as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of all back-of-house work areas, including refrigeration, baking equipment, and prep areas
- Adapt to changing production needs and assist in other kitchen areas during peak times
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Baker in a high-volume restaurant or bakery setting
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, methods, and best practices
- Proficiency in using various baking equipment and tools
- Excellent understanding of different types of dough, batters, and pastries
- Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- General knife handling skills and food safety knowledge
- Creativity in decorating and presenting baked goods
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Flexible schedule with availability to work weekends and early morning shifts
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs)
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and improve based on feedback
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school or professional baking certification is a plus
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment
