Job Description
As an In-Room Dining Server, you will be responsible for providing an outstanding and memorable in-room dining experience for each guest. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Taking and placing orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct timing and billing.
- Delivering requested items in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of quality and service.
- Relating with guests about their needs and satisfaction with the beverage and food offerings, ensuring consistently caring and high-quality service.
- Retrieving orders from the POS system, communicating special requests or modifications to the kitchen, and maintaining knowledge of all menu items.
- Preparing the guest check accurately, collecting payment or signature as required, and operating, maintaining, and properly cleaning all restaurant equipment and fittings.
- Maintaining a tidy food delivery area and par level of food items, such as beverages and snacks, as well as non-food items like menu cards, napkins, and straws.
- Using safe food handling procedures and maintaining a safe working environment by following proper skills and food safety guidelines.
- Cleaning and maintaining in-room private/mini-bars, reporting damage or malfunctioning units, checking quality and expiration of all items, and discarding and replacing according to established procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of one year experience in customer service or the foodservice/hospitality industry.
- To meet the minimum age requirements for food and alcohol service.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs.
- The ability to obtain relevant state and local government certifications, such as food handlers certificate or alcohol training certifications, as applicable to the position.
- The ability to lift 30lbs.
