Auberle’s Foster Care Program provides a home setting for children and youth that cannot be with their family. A range of foster care services are offered in order to meet the needs of young people and their families, when possible. Auberle staff work in tandem with placing agencies to transition young people into permanent living arrangement, whatever that may be. The Foster Care Program expects that the Sanctuary Model of Trauma Informed Care is fully supported and integrated into the approach regarding services along with the Therapeutic Foster Care model. The Foster Care Program includes Auberle’s SWAN service offerings.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Promote the philosophy and mission of Auberle in the provision of all responsibilities.

Research, schedule, coordinate, and facilitate marketing events and recruitment activities.

Work resource parents through onboarding process quickly & efficiently by maintaining continuous contact and building file to be neat, orderly, & complete.

Train the foster care team on various training topics relevant to the field both at initial certification, continuous education for certified families, and foster care staff.

Communicate recruitment and training activities to the entire Foster Care team, including potential and currently certified resource parents.

Recruit, screen, select, and approve resource families in concert with all Foster Care staff on an ongoing basis- Initial certification, annual recertification, and as needed in accordance with their performance.

Complete and submit all DHS and agency regulatory documentation for newly recruited families.

Coordinate and communicate Foster Care support group activities to entire Foster Care team.

Assist all Foster Care staff in the provision of their duties as deemed necessary.

Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other planning meetings as scheduled.

Represent Auberle on community advisory boards and committees as deemed necessary.

Assure compliance with Trauma Informed Care, SWAN, State Regulations, County Contracts, and Agency Policies and Procedures.

Promote the Continuous Quality Improvement philosophy and maintain all Quality Improvement goals and objectives.

Demonstrate an understanding of and respect for the cultural diversity of consumers, volunteers, staff, and other stakeholders through the provision of services.

Perform such other duties as the CEO or COO may direct.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
-
Requires working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
-
Work is performed in an office, in homes, in the community, and remotely, as approved by Program Manager.

Requires travel for events, appointments, assessments, court hearings, home visits, and meetings.
-
Work is performed in client and foster homes, where conditions may include tobacco- smoke, domestic animals, household pests, mold and other allergens, and other conditions common to domestic environments.

Contact with staff and non-staff (e.g., client families, referents, staff from other community agencies).
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-
Possess and communicate a passion for Auberle’s Mission of helping children and families.
-
A proven track record of successfully working with the client population: young children, teens, foster families, families of origin and/or adoptive or custodial families.
-
A proven track record of effectively working with the community, schools, faith-based organizations and other appropriate supports that build resilience among teens and strength among caregivers.

Demonstrated effective leadership in coaching and coordinating others to create a work environment recognized for achieving excellence and strategic priorities in a timely and cost-effective fashion.

Excellent interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellence in multi-tasking with a passion for excellence and a work ethic to support it.
Qualifications

Commitment to and passionate about serving children and families
-
A Master Degree in Social Work or other Human Service field preferred OR a Bachelor’s Degree and five years of experience working with children, youth or families

Demonstrated computer knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and Windows environment.

Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, vehicle, registration and insurance
-
ACT 33/34 and FBI Clearances
-
21 years of age or older
