Auberle is growing. We served 5,150 people in FY24, an increase of 1,000 from FY23, which was 556 more than FY22. We serve 14 PA counties in five program areas: Housing, Workforce Development, Young Adult Services, Foster Care, and Behavioral Health. Since 7/1/24, we have launched 5 new programs and expanded to central PA. We built and manage large networks of hundreds of partners to achieve our Mission.

Position Overview: Auberle’s culture is entrepreneurial with a higher level of risk taking than most non-profits supported by a strong financial position. We are seeking an independent self-starter who will also be a collaborative partner on our development team. This position is important to Auberle. With the growth of Auberle services noted above, fund raising pilots sustainable solutions to solve seemingly intractable problems, drives innovation and upgrades to programs, facilities, and staff development. Programs are built to be sustainable. The emphasis on building rapport and relationships requires an outgoing, poised and persuasive communication style.
The Major Gifts Officer will focus on moves management to engage/reengage, cultivate, solicit, and close 4-5-6 figure gifts and to further extend and deepen our connections with a comprehensive portfolio of donors including major corporations in the region. Initiative, coupled with a sense of competitive drive, and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions, is the key to achieving the performance objectives of this job. Given the environment we operate in, the work involves innovation, creativity, and quick responses to new ideas. Decision making is focused on implementing practical, timely solutions. We are not paralyzed by a fear of making a mistake.
The position reports to the Director of Development. The Development Department currently has 4.5 professional positions which we expect to increase, as well as outside consultants.
Key Performance Objectives:
- Expand our network and increase the number of individual, corporate and foundation donors and our level of unrestricted donations to support innovation.
- Research, qualify, initiate outreach, and engage new major gift prospects.
- Create meaningful opportunities for partners and friends to interact with and support Auberle by engaging them to understand their specific interests.
- Expand philanthropic revenue streams to support Auberle’s annual goals and long-term priorities.
- Act as a support to partners and donors.
- Establish, sustain, and leverage internal and external relationships using strong communication skills and marketing abilities.
- Market the agency using the outcome data to all constituencies.
- Educate staff and the Board on effective networking and fund raising strategies.
- Lead and follow as needed.

Qualifications
Principal Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Five or more years of experience in Fundraising, Marketing or Sales.
- Demonstrated experience in performance-based and mission-based organizations.
- Outstanding relationship building skills with internal and external constituents.
- Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills are a must.
- Proven ability to research, collect, analyze and employ data to guide decisions.
- Ability to communicate passion for Auberle’s Mission.
- Servant leader attitude and practices mandatory.
- Knowledge of database management and understanding systems to support the position.
- Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings with access to transportation for appointments.
- Act 33/34 clearances required. Random drug testing may be conducted to maintain a safe and drug-free workplace.
