Job Summary
The Activities Director plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our care facility. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that meets the needs and preferences of residents.
- Plan and coordinate events, outings, and recreational activities that encourage participation and enhance social engagement.
- Collaborate with staff, families, and community resources to create opportunities for residents to participate in meaningful activities.
- Conduct assessments to determine residents' interests and abilities to tailor programs effectively.
- Facilitate group activities that promote cognitive stimulation, physical fitness, and emotional well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and evaluate the effectiveness of programs regularly.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all activity planning and execution.
- Provide support to staff in understanding the importance of recreational therapy within the care environment.
Requirements
- Experience in event planning or recreational therapy is preferred.
- Background in memory care, long-term care, or senior care settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of social work principles as they relate to elderly populations is a plus.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or providing home community care is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
