AFTER SCHOOL INSTRUCTOR I
QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) High school diploma or equivalent.
(2) Successful experience working with children preferred.
(3) Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama Statutes and
State Board of Education regulations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to relate to and work with students and adults in a positive manner. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. Basic English and mathematics skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic knowledge of technology and ability to apply knowledge to assigned areas of responsibility. Ability to plan and organize. Knowledge of operation of office and audio‐visual equipment. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues. Ability to be flexible. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
REPORTS TO: Principal, Assistant Principal, and/or After School Coordinator or designee.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- (1) Assist with the preparation of materials and equipment for after school instructional
- (2) Follow appropriate training and lead small group activities planned by the After School
learning experiences.
- (3) Assist the After School Coordinator in preparing for changing curriculum to meet the

- (4) Maintain a clean and orderly environment for students.
- (5) Assist in the computer lab as requested by the After School Coordinator.
- (6) Assist the After School Coordinator with student supervision as assigned.
- (7) Assist in maintaining the materials and equipment.
- (8) Assist the After School Coordinator in the enforcement of classroom rules.
- (9) Provide tutorial services as needed.
- (10) Communicate effectively with the staff members, students, parents, administrators and
