Montgomery County Public Schools, Virginia, is accepting applications for an administrative assistant position that is available at Auburn High School

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Functional knowledge of commonly used office equipment and work-flow technologies
• Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office including EXCEL, WORD, Power-Point and Google Docs
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain an unquestionable degree of confidentiality
• Ability to multi-task, work with interruptions, and work under pressure
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, school administrators, and staff
• Ability to be dependable and punctual
• Payroll/Bookkeeping/Accounting/Purchasing Experience
• Special education financial reports and reimbursements
• Ability to create and distribute brochures and other supplies
• Process various reports
• Ability to provide timely and accurate administrative support to supervisors

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the secretarial and/or administrative office fields
• Experience in a school system
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable to meet the requirements of the specific assignments.
• Computer literate, proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Web Page design, and maintenance
• Experience with student and/or financial data systems
• Knowledge of the special education process

FLSA Status:  Non-exempt

SALARY:  $31,200.00 - $57,225.92 annually; with benefits; commensurate with experience and prorated to start date
